Making a timelapse

We got permission to put up a camera at ungdomshuset to record photos every half minute during the week leading to the festival, actual festival, and days following.
The result was 65'000 pictures representing a nice process of building up decoration for the festival, festival itself with audience flow between concerts and bonfire gatherings, tearing down the festival and relaxation.

We were left with the 65'000 pictures containing sensitive data with faces and stuff.
That, and a consensu from ungdomshuset that faces were to be removed, led me towards ideas on how to do exactly that.

First i compiled all folders on my nikon d40 dumps as videos in lower resolution than original, actual widescreen dv pal resolution. This was done with the nice "timelapse-assembler" freeware.

Then in premiere pro i put the made videos together, made a copy of the finnished product in blurred version on itself. Put video echo on everything to make motion in time blend together.

Finnished product was a nice little video were time is repeating itself while moving forwards. This creates some really nice color textures with light changes. It also created nice night environments where shadows take over the yard reminding me of the 70's "lord of the rings" animations.
