two minutes more were added at "the scene of the crime":
I went to ungdomshuset where the doomtown festival happened and sat down with my laptop in the yard. I soon saw it was the last day of the Killtown metal festival. SO i guess i was in the mood and it happily resulted in a lot of brushing up on the allready done stuff, (contrast/brightness, transitions, titles of interviewed).
The vhs tapes are killing me. they really have a heavy influence negatively on my view on this project.
I have 30 tapes or so and since it would require 30 x 2.4 hours in vcrs with digitizers i am kinda lost.
Stoffer has offered to help with the digitalization but still it is a creep in huge dimensions waiting to be slaughtered.
Originally i bought a lot of composite to usb thing'ies but since i failed at getting the right brand (looked the same different chip inside)
i ended up with unusable plastic (under linux anyway) for 200$.
That was bad and has been the biggest overall expense until now.
so ireally want to empathize on the following:
we live in an age were digital equipment that record into easily optained ready to use file formats in non-tape media.
This is great since there is really no conversion happening and time is saved:
DONT stay with tapes for the sake of it, even dv tapes suck cause they demand you to take time recording them into the computer BEFORE editing.
NO MORE TAPES FOR ME!
